Genuine
Cloisonné
Also
referred to in the artistic community as "Champleve",
this ancient process involves hand painting
the recessed areas of the emblem using
powdered vitreous glass enamels. The emblems
are then kiln fired at extremely high temperatures
which melts and fuses the enamels to the
metal emblem. Each emblem is then meticulously
hand stoned and the enamels buffed to a
mirror-like sheen. (PMS Color Matching
cannot be guaranteed)

"Imitation" Cloisonné:
As
very high quality color acrylics and epoxies
were developed during recent years, and
technologies developed to more efficiently
apply them, this process has become an
increasingly popular and cost efficient
alternative to genuine cloisonné.
When applied properly, these buffed epoxy
colorfills are virtually indistinguishable
by the average eye from true cloisonné.

Soft Enamel
This process
involves the use of high quality acrylic
based paints and lacquers which are carefully
applied into the background detail of
the emblem, then baked at low temperatures
to aid in drying and adhering the paints
to the emblem. Clear epoxy is sometimes
also applied to give a look of "depth" to
the colors, and to also offer an extended
service life. (PMS Color Matching is
possible)
